Heat respond to Haslem's drug possession charge

Miami, FL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Miami Heat organization responded on Monday
to forward Udonis Haslem's drug possession and unlawful speeding charges
stemming from a traffic stop on Sunday.
"We are aware of the incident involving Udonis Haslem yesterday afternoon, and
while we fully support our players, since this is a pending legal matter we
will have no further comment at this time," Heat president Pat Riley said.
Miami-Dade County court records show Haslem was charged with possessing over
20 grams of marijuana. According to the Miami Herald, the traffic stop
happened around 3 p.m. (et) when Haslem was stopped for driving 78 m.p.h. in
a 60 m.p.h. zone.
Haslem has spent his entire seven-year career with the Heat and recently
signed a five-year contract with the team this past offseason rather than
taking more lucrative offers to play elsewhere.
